Shaun T & Nelly–Hip Hop Celebrity Workouts

Famous Workout Celebs

Celebrities have long been involved in developing exercise routines.  Waaaay back when, there was Jack LaLane, who is still fit as a fiddle and endorsing his juicer along with his workout routine.  I may be showing my age, but Jane Fonda was the first true celeb that I can remember who offered an exercise routine with a name attached to it.  Since then, there have been a ton of famous and not so famous actors, dancers, musicians and athletes that have developed or lent their name to some sort of exercise.

The latest figures to get involved in the exercise DVD industry are rappers, Shaun T and Nelly.  They each have designed their own specific routines around what has worked for them in developing the bodies or physiques they wanted.  These exercise DVD’s are hot enough to be picked up and featured on As Seen On TV commercials, so they’re worth taking a look at.

Workin’ With Your Favorite Rapper!

Shaun T’s Hip Hop Abs

Rapper Shaun T has taken many of his signature dance moves and incorporated them in to four different DVD’s.  “Secrets to Flat Abs” and “Ab Sculpt” concentrate primarily on developing the six-pack abs that he’s famous for.  Using his novel training techniques, you can tighten and define your abdominal core without ever getting on the floor to do sit-ups or crunches.  To burn fat and calories, Shaun has made the “Fat Burning Cardio” DVD that’s really a high energy, fun way to lose the weight you’ve always wanted.  It’s set to the high impact, highly motivating radio music that hip hop fans will enjoy dancing to.  Finally, “The Total Body Burn” is a head to toe workout that is designed to involve your whole body in the calorie burning process.  Another strenuous, but fun workout that’s designed to trim you down.

With the Hip Hop Abs package, you also receive four more free DVD’s that address your lower body, diet and teaching you a couple of Hip Hop dance routines.  I didn’t know that Shaun T actually instructs other recording artists in dance routines for their music videos, so he really must have it all together!  Another plus to this program is their offer of online support for purchasers.  All this seems like a pretty good deal for about $75. including shipping.

Celebrity Sweat–Nelly

The “Celebrity Sweat” project is a proposed issue of DVD’s featuring famous bodies and their workout routines.  Nelly is the first of this series that is touted to have Carmelo Anthony and Chad Ochocinco presenting their routines in the future.  Whereas Shaun T used dance to primarily to gain muscle mass and tone, Nelly demonstrates how he added muscle and developed his super body by creating workouts designed to develop the areas he needed most, like his chest and biceps.  His routines are certainly inspirational as he truly does have that “action figure frame” that everyone who works out aspires to.  You can have Nelly be your personal trainer for about $26 including shipping.

Dynamic Duo

If you really want to do it up right, combining the Shaun T’s cardio and dance with Nelly’s muscle building routines would seem to be an excellent way to lose unwanted belly fat and gain muscle where it counts the most.  With the music, at least it’s sure to be fun!
